The best of fall: Cherry Liqueur

Fall is coming! The best side is having your liqueur to warm your evenings. It is more delicious if you patiently prepare it with the cherries you picked from the garden. <3

Preparing the ingredients is not so hard. Finding them a bit challenging. After 3 months patience it is ready!

For serving; you can serve it next to coffee or in coffee. Cool serving (-4'C) is recommended.
Ingredients
Ingredients for a 3-liter container:
Cherries – 1 kilogram
Vodka (moonshine, brandy) – 0.5-0.7 liter
Sugar – 300-400 grams
Nutmeg (4 pieces)
Clove (8-10 pieces)
Mastic (10 pieces)
Cinnamon sticks (2 middle size)
Cardamom (10 pieces)
Glass bottle 3 liters
How to do cherry liqueur?
If possible do not put cherries to fridge. It is better to have them fresh. Wash the cherries. Pour each cherry 3-4 cm layer with sugar—3-5 tablespoons. You’ll need 12-20 tablespoons of sugar for a 3-liter container. Sugar will be on top.
Break all the spices as shown on the photo. Put the smashed herbs into a clean organic cotton fabric and close the fabric as filter. You will mix the liqueur every week.
"Cherry pits give out almond flavor thanks to an insignificant amount of cyanide and hydrocyanic acid. Correct maturing time and sugar counteract these harmful substances, but if you think that this drink can harm your health remove the pits leaving only pulp and juice. Although, doing this will remove its notable bitterness."
The cherries will be covered with alcohol by at least 1-2 cm.Seal the vessel and put it in a dark place with room temperature. Shake it once every 2-3 days for perfect reaction. 1 week later add the herb mixture with coton fabric)
Keep doing it but not more 40 days.
After 35-40 days remove cherries from the container by filtering the infusion through a few layers of cotton fabric. for storing and seal it. 25-30% ABV. Its shelf-life in a cool dark place is up to 3 years.
You can keep berries for serving or next to cookies.
